Zig Zag Ambassador Van Humphries calls on young implant recipient
Zig Zag Foundation Ambassador Van Humphries has paid a return visit to cochlear ear implant recipient Matilda to see how she was progressing eight months after receiving the aid thanks to a grant from the Reds charity.
The cost per implant is $10,000 and this includes their therapy to get used to hearing.
It was at one of those "mapping" sessions that Van caught up with Matilda and mother Emily and brought some gifts including a football that proved very popular with the youngster.
Last year Van and ZZF Director & Committee Member Kim Spillman had attended Matilda's "switch-on" day, so he was keen to see how far she had progressed.
The Zig Zag Foundation raises funds for sick, underprivileged and at risk children between the age of 0-18 years. They operate purely on a voluntary basis and have minimal overheads. The money they raise is granted to Queensland and nationally registered children's charities and organisations who apply for special project funding.
