Good administration is the key to success on the field.

The QRU is committed to improving the quality of participation experiences as well as the viability and sustainability of Rugby clubs and associations.

The resources presented in the topics listed at left provide tools for better club management. It is not the only way of doing something, but these present best model practice.

Community rugby clubs across Queensland successfully applied for state and federal government grants in excess of half a million dollars in 2006.

The state government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund provides one-off grants of up to $30,000 to not-for-profit community groups, while assistance with water saving measures can be obtained through the Federal Government's Community Water Grants.

Queensland Rugby also provides "top up" grants from the Rugby World Cup fund.

The Wests club in Brisbane was recently awarded $30,305 to install water tanks for irrigation, dual flush toilets, water efficient urinals and slow flow devices, with the aim of saving 910,000 litres of water per year.

This amount was topped up with $5,500 in RWC funding.

The closing dates for the Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant rounds are: 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December. More information at this link.

Round 3 of the Community Water Grants is set to open mid-2007. More information at this link
