Corporate Vision & Objectives
Rugby in Queensland is enjoying an exciting period of growth and development.
Player numbers in Queensland are at an all-time high and increasing each year.
There are now more than 50,000 players throughout Queensland, including 8,600 seniors, 23,000 regular school players (more than any other state) and over 14,000 junior club players.
There are 200 clubs throughout the state and more than 235 Queensland schools - many of which are non-traditional rugby schools - have adopted rugby as a sport. And this number is growing each year.
For many, rugby is a way of life. It's that sort of game: it gets into your blood. The spirit of rugby is exemplified by the 8,000 or so volunteers who tirelessly work week-in week-out, or by the supporters who faithfully follow the fortunes of their club or team, whether at grassroots or elite level.
Organisationally, Queensland Rugby has a strong administrative base focused on the continued progression of the code via sound strategic planning and business principles, and an unwavering commitment to significant reinvestment at all levels of the code throughout Queensland.
In 2006 Queensland Rugby invested almost $3.6m in Community Rugby (including almost $2.5m in ARU grant funding) and provided over $130,000 in complimentary Reds match tickets to schools and clubs.
Rugby is a truly international sport built on the ethos of community spirit, camaraderie, discipline, heritage and equality.
The values promoted through rugby participation, both on and off the field, instil a code of behaviour that can be translated into all aspects of life.
Our aim is to provide the best rugby experience for all participants at all levels of the game.
Our mission is to lead and support the growth and success of Queensland Rugby.
