The Suncorp Australian Schoolboys have beaten New Zealand Schools on Kiwi soil for the first time, retaining the Trans Tasman Shield with a 15-11 victory at New Plymouth.

Queensland Red has beaten Queensland White 29-10 in the final of the ARU National 16’s Championships at Nudgee College, to claim the Rod Macqueen Shield.

It will be an all-Queensland final in the national Under 16 championships at Nudgee on Friday after the state's two teams each beat their NSW rivals in the second day of competition.
