QR Championships got smart
Despite being one of the biggest on record, the just completed QR Junior State Championships achieved 100 per cent compliance for Smart Rugby accreditation of coaches and match officials.
The four day event started at Nudgee College and finished with finals day at Ballymore.
It is compulsory to hold a current Smart Rugby qualification when coaching or refereeing Rugby and Queensland Rugby offered accredtitation courses across the state and online to achieve that.
Qld Junior Rugby Manager Brent Hagen was delighted to know that all coaches were Smart Rugby accredited, saying, “it is good that all junior rugby players are being coached in the contact elements of the game in a safe environment”.
On Wednesday, 9th July at 6:00pm, Queensland Rugby will run its final Smart Rugby course at Ballymore for 2008. If you wish to attend this course please email michael.lucas@qru.com.au.
