Mountain Creek wins 2008 Ballymore Cup
Mountain Creek State High from the Sunshine Coast are the 2008 Ballymore Cup champions.
Mountain Creek defeated Rockhampton Grammar School 11-0 to claim the title for the first time, and the second year in a row for their region after Sunshine Coast Grammar took the Division One title in 2007.
In the Division Two Final, Ipswich SHS 15 defeated Emmanuel College 12, while in the Plate Final playoff for third and fourth place in Division One, Forest Lake SHS 45 defeated Helensvale SHS 7.
Rockhampton Grammar had earlier stormed into the Division One Final with a 38-0 victory over Helensvale in Friday night's semi-final.
Mountain Creek beat Forest Lake State Hgh School 12-3 in their semi.
Ipswich State High had a tough battle with Corinda SHS to make the final, a golden point field goal giving them an 8-5 win, while Emmanuel College went through to the final when their semi-final against Groves Christian College failed to go ahead.
